Strikingly beautiful and separated by
a barrier of mountains, Cape Town looks and feels different
from the rest of South Africa. A well known tourist destination,
it’s known for its unique topography which offers
a range of activities, from windsurfing and mountain climbing
to sun bathing on its gorgeous beaches. But, it’s
also a famous for other things which lurk around its coast
line… Great White Sharks!
The great white shark, also known as white death is one
of the meanest, most bad ass predators to roam around
the Cape of Good Hope… or is it? There is however
one other type of great white predator which is known
to roam around the Cape, it’s none other than this
fine example of a Suzuki GSXR 1000.
Piloting
this loaded gun is its tamer, Heinrich Slamet. Heini,
as he is better known, is a familiar face on the local
drag scene at Killarney Raceway. He and his Great White
have firmly been claiming their territory not only at
the track but at many rallies across the Western Cape.
Since two years ago Heini has been competing in drags
and has consistently been running an average ¼
mile time of 10.8 seconds. But this being the animalistic
world that we live in, the bigger fish always end up eating
the smaller ones, and we all know, that there’s
always a bigger fish than yourself. Heini was a shark,
he was white, but he wasn’t yet great.
The competition was always stiff, and if he wanted to
play with the big fish, he needed to up his game. Heini
devised a plan and made it his mission, with the help
of his family, especially his dad and brother Renfred,
to get his beast into shape.
