Street Demon Racing Illegals at Sacks Circle

I first saw a post on a website forum with the subject line, "Legal Street Racing at Sacks Circle". Immediately when I read that I found it rather hard to believe. Curiously I clicked on the link and there was a link to another website, Street Demon Racing. Looking at this website it was no doubt put together by a primary school kid and there was no contact details. Something was definitely up here. This doesn't look right at all. After doing some investigating someone found out that the local PD in the Sacks Circle area didn't even know about it. Now, some might say it should of been left as is and let every one pitch up and have a great night of racing. No, because with rumors like Legal Drag Racing at Sacks Circle, it would only attract people by the thousands. Sacks circle can accommodate a good few hundred people on a normal illegal drag night, but when you have thousands of people flocking to 1 area, with no crowd control, there's only shyte that's going to hit that poor fan. Many years ago when there were rumors about Legal Drags at Sacks, there were I don't know how many thousand people. I was one of them, unknowingly I attended, and left just as quickly as I arrived because it was absolute chaos around me. Later that same night, accidents happened, people got hurt.

So, coming back to recent events, I don't think it was fair to let the story repeat itself as it would only interfere with future attempts of legitimate racing on our streets. I arrived at Sacks around 8:30PM, yes, a bit early, but the place was already packed. There were Police vans patrolling, with their blue lights on, but it didn't really make a difference because these innocent spectators came to watch Legal Racing and THOUGHT it was a legal event, so its only natural that the police were patrolling. Anyways, after about 45 minutes of the police trying to tell every one that this event has been cancelled, I decided to hit the road as I had a rather long day being a judge at the Tokyo Drift Competition earlier in the day. On my way out of the Bellville area, I noticed streams of cars pulling in... Oh Boy, the cops sure got their hands full I thought...

The so called "organizer" of this event actually tried to do it properly. So we can give him a lollipop for trying. But he lacked in almost everything else besides a permit. Yes a permit was approved, which permit specifically I'm not sure. But everything else that supposed to have went along with it and backed it up, notifications to various departments etc, totally fell through, hence the event was cancelled by the City of Cape Town. The organizer agreed to notify every one about the cancelled event, but failed to do so. His website was not even updated. He wasn't even there on Saturday night to tell everyone about the cancellation. He did not even inform the ambulance about it. They were totally clueless about what's going on.

At the end of the night, the unfortunate happened. What I initially feared would happen when I first thought about it. An accident occurred on Modderdamn Road and a life was lost. How it happened exactly is left to be seen, but to the organizer, dude, you better hope and prey that the family of the deceased don't find you before the cops do!
