Speaking to some of the first time racers, they were totally amped about racing on a real strip. Nervous as they were, they clearly all enjoyed the whole experience. Overall the event went off extremely smoothly and was well supported in the dreadful Cape weather. Big up’s to WPMC for organizing this and lets all hope that since this was a trial event, they will have these Street to Strip events on a regular basis. It’s surely a way to get the guys off the street and onto a controlled and save environment. It kind of reminds me of the glorious days of Wingfield. Every second Sunday of the Month, thousands of people would flock to the air base to see their favorite cars racing. We at RACEWEB.CO.ZA would like to see these events happen regularly on Wednesday nights, race night, as some call it. But everything takes time and support, so let’s all give it the support it needs in order for this to happen!
