It’s Friday night and you had a stressful week at work. Cruising down the main road on your way home, all you want to do is “blow off” some pressure from your dump valve. You approach a set of red lights at an intersection and stop. Minding your own business a tricked out “wana be” racer rolls up along side you. He see’s you looking at him and gives it a boot full gas right to the limiter. You grin sheepishly and think to yourself… Game on buddy! All of a sudden the robots turn into staging lights, the guy crossing the road turns into a marshal, the Dj on the radio becomes a race commentator, the baseball cap on your head becomes your helmet and finally, the road ahead transforms into a real quarter mile drag strip! Is this a dream or reality? Well dear readers, it’s all reality! Thanks to a long awaited event, Street to Strip is finally here for us Capetonians. Killarney raceway held their first free for all race event on Friday night, the 29th of August. What this means is that you didn’t need an MSA license or pay to race. The only thing you needed is a car in a road worthy condition, a crash helmet and 20 bux to get into the venue. The rest is pretty simple.
